Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Ongoing evaluation: This website is regularly reviewed and updated as part of our accessibility efforts.
At Sasquatch Books, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible, including individuals with disabilities. We recognize the importance of digital accessibility and are actively working to improve the usability of our website using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a reference.
This statement applies to the primary website experience and is updated as accessibility improvements are implemented.
Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation.
What We Are Doing to Improve Accessibility
We are currently auditing and remediating the website and taking steps to improve accessibility, including:
- Keyboard accessibility and navigation
Improving access to navigation menus and interactive components to support operation without a mouse. - Focus management and interactive behavior
Reviewing and improving focus order, focus visibility, and behavior for components such as dialogs, menus, and search to provide a more predictable experience. - Semantic structure and content organization
Improving headings, lists, and page structure so content is easier to understand and navigate with assistive technologies. - Accessible labeling and link clarity
Reviewing links, controls, and interactive elements to improve clarity and descriptive labeling. - Color contrast and visual clarity
Updating text, links, and interface elements to improve readability and reduce reliance on color alone.
This work is ongoing, and additional improvements will be made as issues are identified and addressed. Some improvements have been implemented as interim solutions within the current site structure, and additional updates or component replacements may be required to fully meet accessibility best practices.
Some accessibility improvements are dependent on third-party tools or current site architecture and may require additional updates or component replacements to fully meet accessibility best practices.
Known Limitations
While we are working toward improved accessibility, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. In particular:
- Interactive sliders and carousels
Some slider and carousel components are currently under review to ensure full keyboard support and screen reader compatibility. - Modal dialogs and overlays
Certain modal windows and popup components are being evaluated and refined to improve focus handling and assistive technology support. - Consent management tools
The site uses a third party consent management solution to manage cookie preferences. We are reviewing this component and working with the vendor where possible to ensure it aligns with current accessibility standards. - Third party content and integrations
Some third party tools or embedded content may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are reviewing these components and working with vendors where possible to improve accessibility or identify suitable alternatives.
