Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 17, 2026
At Sasquatch Books, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible, including individuals with disabilities. We recognize the importance of digital accessibility and are actively working to improve the usability of our website using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a reference.
Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation.
What We Are Doing to Improve Accessibility
We are currently auditing and remediating the website and taking steps to improve accessibility, including:
- Alternative text for images
Adding and refining descriptive alternative text so that meaningful images are accessible to screen reader users. - Color contrast improvements
Reviewing and adjusting color contrast for text, controls, and visual elements to improve readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies. - Keyboard accessibility
Ensuring that interactive elements such as links, buttons, menus, sliders, forms, and modal dialogs are operable using a keyboard and that focus is visible. - Focus behavior and navigation
Improving focus order and focus management in interactive components to support clear and predictable keyboard navigation. - Semantic structure and labels
Reviewing headings, form labels, and page structure to improve clarity and usability for assistive technology users.
This work is ongoing, and additional improvements will be made as issues are identified and addressed.
Known Limitations
While we are working toward improved accessibility, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. In particular:
- Interactive sliders and carousels
Some slider and carousel components are currently under review to ensure full keyboard support and screen reader compatibility. - Modal dialogs and overlays
Certain modal windows and popup components are being evaluated and refined to improve focus handling and assistive technology support. - Consent management tools
The site uses a third party consent management solution to manage cookie preferences. We are reviewing this component and working with the vendor where possible to ensure it aligns with current accessibility standards. - Third party content and integrations
Some third party tools or embedded content may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are reviewing these components and working with vendors where possible to improve accessibility or identify suitable alternatives.
