Who We Are
Sasquatch Books is comprised of three imprints. Sasquatch Adult publishes visual nonfiction by gifted writers, artists, chefs, naturalists, and thought leaders whose work reflects the adventurous, creative, DIY spirit of the PNW. Their passion becomes ours as we help transform their vision into beautifully crafted books and journals. Little Bigfoot, our children’s imprint, draws inspiration from the natural wonders of the PNW and the diverse population that lives here. We publish richly illustrated board books and picture books that spark curiosity and engage the imagination of young readers and their families. Our Spruce Books imprint creates giftable, highly visual books, journals, and workbooks intended to help readers age 16+ to develop self-knowledge, build emotional intelligence, and create positive connections with the world around them.
Sasquatch Values
Sasquatch Books believes in the power of the written word to connect us and change lives. As a book publisher, we seek to create a world where free expression, literacy, and creativity flourish. We are especially committed to uplifting communities in the Pacific Northwest, where we are located, through internal initiatives, external partnerships, and charitable donations. Our primary focus is on those that nurture reading culture, from independent bookstores to organizations that provide books and learning opportunities to the underserved. We strive to amplify diverse voices in the books we publish and in the talent we partner with to create them.
Land Acknowledgment
Sasquatch Books acknowledges that, with our offices located in downtown Seattle, we work on the traditional homelands of Chief Seattle’s dxʷdəwʔabš (People of the Inside, the Duwamish Tribe of Indians), the First People of this land. We honor with gratitude the land itself, those who walked here before us, and their descendants who still walk here, including the Duwamish, Suquamish, Snoqualmie, Puyallup, Muckleshoot, Tulalip, and other Coast Salish peoples.
We recognize and support their ancestral ties to this land and their enduring relationship with and stewardship of its many natural resources. This acknowledgment is but one small step toward creating inclusive and respectful relationships that honor Indigenous cultures, histories, and identities. As a Pacific Northwest publisher, we strive to uplift the voices of Indigenous communities, raise awareness of our shared history, and respect the land.
We encourage you to learn more about the Duwamish people at DuwamishTribe.org and to learn more about the Indigenous communities in your region. You can explore the Native Land map here.
