Nikki McClure’s new journal features beautiful papercut images of women rallying to defend, renew, astound, and connect with the world around them.
Drawn from Nikki McClure’s bestselling calendar, the simple but evocative papercut images in Rally show women being brave, taking risks, and pushing forward in their lives. McClure creates her all of powerful images using a single piece of black paper and an X-acto knife, giving them graceful, singular appeal. This blank journal, intended for capturing thoughts and ideas, drawing, creating lists, or using as a personal diary, will inspire women everywhere with its timely and powerful images.
In 1996, NIKKI McCLURE made her first papercut for the book Apple. She has been creating papercut artwork ever since. She splits her time between making a yearly calendar and making children's books. In the summer, she sails north to explore islands, watch birds, hang out with moss, pick berries, and swim in the Salish Sea. McClure shows her artwork at Land Gallery in Portland every November. She lives in Olympia, Washington, with her husband and son under cedar trees along the eastern shore of the southern Salish Sea. She is also the author of The First 1000 Days, The Next 1000 Days, and Embrace.
